invitation to a changed life
contentment

I complain alot about my job. ALOT. It is wrong. God has given me this job and though it is a hard job, especially for a foreigner, there are many good things about it. And for right now, for me, it is the perfect job. My perspective has been shifted over the weekend by thinking about other jobs here which could be mine. Gladly, I have accepted the new perspective. I am so very thankful for my job...and here is why:

1. I am with my girls every day. If they have a problem they can come to me. I can visit them on breaks and we walk to and from school together.

2. Full-time teaching here is a half day. School here goes until lunch time. The other hours are prep hours which can be done from home.

3. I LOVE the other English teachers. They are becoming great friends and we work very well together. We help each other out and really care about each other.

4. My bosses are so kind and helpful to me. They are caring and considerate and cut so much slack for me. Even though I often feel stupid because of language, they never make me feel that way.

5. I have every vacation day off with my girls...fall break, winter break, spring break, Easter break and summer break...we are all together.

6. I really love teaching. It is a good fit for me and something that I am really good at.

7. This position is challenging for me but I see the personal growth from it. It is palpable.

8. My Czech language skills have improved being at this school.

9. 90% of my students are really fun and great to teach. The other 10% afford an opportunity to practice patience, love and kindness. They are helping me know God better and to grow in wisdom and strength.

10. Teaching at the local Czech school has helped me become a part of our community here in Hluboká. It has opened doors for me into the lives of Czechs where a foreigner often has no access. I am one of the gang.

Thanks, God, for the new attitude. I am looking forward to work tomorrow.
