Dobra Cajovna
In the centrum of Ceske Budejovice, under the cerny vez (black tower) lies my new favorite place. A perfect indian, moroccan, turkish tea room. We went there last week to get out from the pouring rain, and immediately smelled the incense and heard the Eastern music and I knew I was going to be in love. The server brought us a beautiful menu and a small bell to ring when we needed him. You could choose to sit on the floor or at small tables and they even had games to play for those who chose to spend an entire afternoon. We ordered a special "yogi tea" for me and "caj, caj, caj" for Danny. And a bowl of pistachios. The girls had a bowl of specially made cookies. Even they could sense the quiet, exotic ambience and they fell into a hush. It was a treat to watch the owner make the teas. He made it seem like an art form. The "caj, caj, caj" tea is made according to an ancient indian tradition where he must chant "caj, caj, caj" as he makes it and then scream at you when he serves it. I was in hysterics laughing because I totally did not expect him to yell at me when he served it...what a riot!! Here is the web site FYI...http://www.tea.cz
