The stripes on the tree trunks mark out paths that lead all over the Czech republic. Also posted are signs that are color coded to the stripes on the trees. For instance, if you wanted to go from Hluboka nad vltavou (our home) to Ceske Vrbne you would follow the red striped trees, if you wanted to go to Trebon (where they have the best zmrzlina (ice cream)) you would follow green striped trees...fun, huh?
