Here in the Czech Republic it is traditional to go out into the forest for a scavenger hunt. The parents prepare ukol (homework) and hide it while placing arrows (sipky) made of twigs on the ground marking the way. At each stop the ukol is read and performed...it may be reciting a poem or doing a stunt. Then a word written on a piece of paper is given when the ukol is completed. At the end of the sipkovanou the children have acquired the words needed to complete a sentence which is a clue to the location of the poklad (treasure) they unbury the treasure which comprises sweets and toys. Here we are on a sipkovanou with our friends Martin and Lenka and their girls, Marketa and Verunka.
