A Walk through our Town (1 of 4)
A few days ago I had to walk about 8 kilometers (about 5 miles) to pick up my bike from the repair shop. I decided to bring along the camera just to give you a look at our town from my perspective. I almost never take the car to work, finding the 12 kilometer bike ride much more peaceful. So come along with me through our town...

I began my walk at about 10AM. It was just below freezing outside. I was surprised to see this chimney sweeper hard at work at the end of our street.
Not far from home I leave the road and head on a path through the forest. This tree is a favorite of Roxie and Rebekah, as I like to put them on the lowest branch and pump it up and down while they try to hang on.

This is a beautiful pond in the forest. It is frozen over now, but not yet thick enough for me to walk on.

In the forest is this statue of a saint and the baby Jesus.

About 10 minutes into my walk the Hluboka Castle comes looming out of the fog. Normally abuzz with tourists in the summer, this morning I have it all to myself.
