Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel; he came and set his people free.
He set the power of salvation in the center of our lives, and in the very house of David his servant.
Just as he promised long ago through the preaching of his holy prophets: Deliverance from our enemies and every hateful hand;
Mercy to our fathers, as he remembers to do what he said he'd do,
What he swore to our father Abraham - a clean rescue from the enemy camp,
So we can worship him without a care in the world, made holy before him as long as we live.
Luke 1:67-75
I am thinking about this last verse: "so we can worship Him without a care in the world, made holy before Him as long as we live."
I so desire that...to have not a care in the world as I worship Him. This doesn't mean that everything will go my way, or that I will have no problems or that there won't be a pile of laundry and a crying daughter who has been bullied at school. What this means is that I will fully trust in Him that He is my deliverer. That He has already rescued me from the enemy camp and that He will do what He says He will do. He has already taken care of my greatest need, salvation, and through every trial and hardship He stands with me and I know that I am not alone. He gives me strength and courage and peace and joy. This to me is the miracle: Joy in the midst of tragedy. Who can deny that God is loving and powerful and REAL when we see peace and joy in sorrow?
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 2 Corinthians 4:17
