Advent...a time of waiting.
Waiting with expectancy for...something.

Many are waiting for...parties, presents, decorations, family, food..

Some are waiting for...it to be all over, the end of the stress, family to go home, credit card bills...ugh...

Fewer still are waiting...to celebrate: a saviour born, freedom from the chains of sin, a friendship with the God who created us...

Could I propose to you something that we have been toying with? Waiting...for an opportunity to love someone like Jesus did. What did Jesus do while he was here? He loved people, spent time with them, cared for them, met their needs, listened to them...laughed, gave...

Will you wait with us...for these opportunities to love someone, to give to someone?

Today my daughters and I are conspiring to give...to give someone something they need. Taking money meant for family gifts and giving it to those we don't know but are family all the same because God calls us all His children.

Advent...waiting for the one who gave us everything so that we can give it right back...and be all the richer for it.
