spoken gratitude

1. for all of the volunteers in Haiti helping to rescue those lost and comfort the suffering and nurse the sick

2. for the miraculous stories of survivors in Haiti

3. laying in bed on a Saturday morning reading a book with no pressure to be anywhere

4. the example of St. George, looking for ways to help others, not merely waiting for the opportunity to present itself

5. talking through problems with my husband, Dan, as we hike

6. that my daughters' hearts are sensitive to the needs of others

7. laughing and having fun with students

8. knowing that God will give me the strength to do what I must

9. that my daughter, Rebekah, is feeling bonds of friendship forming with some of her classmates

10. That you, my God, hold our futures in your loving, faithful and righteous hands
