Matrikulace...Graduation
Roxie had a kindergarten graduation ceremony at the Radnice (Town Hall) in Hluboka. The Mayor, Tomas Jirsa, who is our next door neighbor officiated the ceremony. He gave the kids a pep talk about their first year in elementary school, and handed out diplomas and little first readers. Roxie and her class had made hats for their graduation and they also gave one to the mayor. Roxie was in charge of presenting him with the gift. The funniest thing was that the picture on their diplomas is of two children walking down a path from their kindergarten as if they are leaving kindergarten and headed out to their futures. The Mayor pointed out comedically that at the end of the path the children are on is a picture of a factory. So he asked the children who would like to follow this path and be a factory worker. In this post communist country this was totally hysterical. The person who designed these diplomas wasn't thinking...

How very neat, Roxie. Not everyone receives their Kindergarten Graduation Diploma from the Mayor of their city. Very Exciting and Very Cool!
Love you!!!!
