Things one doesn't see in CZ
One of Dan's favorite things to do in Salinas, CA where we used to live, is hike at Toro Park. There are several good mountains to climb and really beautiful views. As a matter of fact, Dan hiked there nearly every day when we lived there before moving to the Czech Republic. So, it was a foregone conclusion that we would hike there while we were visiting Salinas. On this particular day, apart from being nearly 300 million degrees, there was a LowRider magazine convention where were gathered lowrider enthusiasts and "gangsters". The convention participants had hired no less than 50,000 bouncehouses and had parked their lowrider cars and choppers on the Toro park grass. It was a sight to behold and one that we, as of late, are not accustomed to. In CZ there live Czechs, the culture is Czech, everything is Czech. It was cool to see multiple cultures and festivities and people groups while visiting the US...It is what we, as Americans, are known for...we are ecumenical.
