field trip
Český Krumlov

Every Tuesday is Field Trip Day here at Camp Coyan. This week's field trip was to UNESCO World Heritage sight, Český Krumlov, an authentic medieval village about 15 klicks from our house. We go there often, mostly as tour guides when we have visitors. It is a favourite tourist spot and the most visited place in the Czech Republic outside of Prague. Of course, when we aren't entertaining guests, we have very different reasons for going to Český Krumlov. They have a soft-serve ice cream vendor there that blends in real fruit of your choice. We look forward to this all year. Tucked away on an ancient cobblestone street stands our favourite English bookstore. I would venture a guess that they have the largest selection of English books in the whole republic. Surprisingly enough, along the Vltava river in Český Krumlov, there is a totally awesome playground with cool playground type things that the girls love to monkey around on. Last, but certainly not least, on the way to Český Krumlov there are a ton of roadside stands selling blueberries, nectarines and my favourtie mushrooms, lišky

you wouldn't think Ceske Krumluv could get prettier after seeing it in the winter, twice now! But it's still just as gorgeous!
