invitation to a changed life
collecting miracles
I believe in miracles. Unfortunately, many don't often expect them and rarely look for them. I think that a multitude of true miracles are taken for granted and passed off as everyday occurences. Snowflakes. Sunbeams through tree branches. Bumblebees. Someone apologizing and asking for forgiveness. Forgiving someone who has hurt you. Holding your child. Watching a seed grow into a plant that feeds your family. Someone comforting you when you are sad.
Then there are obvious miracles that some say are luck, coincidence or whatever, but I know the truth...God is good and loving, though His ways are a mystery to us, He does what He does because He loves us. We experienced our share of miracles this week. The most celebrated by our family is the successful cancer surgery restoring my dad to good health. For this we thank God and adore Him, for His love and mercy. He loves my dad and according to His purposes saw fit to provide a miracle. No coincidence here.
How can we deny the love of our Father in heaven when we are surrounded by Him dwelling in every miracle? One need only open his eyes and and take stock in the abundance of miracles and then believe.
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17
