Whatever happens, give thanks, because it is God's will in Christ Jesus that you do this.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Today was a rough day. At school the kids are crazy and I feel like I am a bad teacher. Often, I feel like I have no business being there. Rebekah is dealing with a bully at school and really hates going. It is draining getting her motivated to go (and stay) at school. The sun hasn't shone for many days in the sky and in my spirit.
It is so easy to grumble and complain. I am good at it. I don't think I smiled once today. Yet when I think of it, I have so much to be thankful for. But I act ungrateful...day in and day out. This month we eagerly await the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ who took care of our greatest need. Wallowing as we are in disease of the mind, soul and body, He came to save us and to heal us and to love us. For this I am thankful. And this salvation is all I truly need yet, much more to be thankful for do I have.
I need a change of attitude and a renewing of my mind. I am asking Him who knows me best to change me and help me to be thankful, to show gratitude. To smile again.
Throughout the rest of Advent we will be trying to compile a list of 100 things for which we are thankful. Each of us will have our own list and daily we will be adding to it. Every couple of days I will update my Gratitude List here on my blog.
Would you join us by making your own list? I would love for you to leave comments and share with me your Gratitude List.
I am truly looking forward to a new perspective!!

You are doing great - you even have a friend declare herself a disciple of Christ and get baptized - Hallelujah!!
I am thankful for: My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, you, Danny, Bekah, Roxie, Misha, Alan, Ellie, my beloved husband, Connie, Peter, Baba, Douglas, and a great church who teaches the Word and loves one another. There are many more but I thought I would start off with these.

I am thankful I am alive, thank you for youre sacrifice Jesus. I am thankful for microscopes that let me see with vision Gods miracles. I am thankful for breathing and the sound of laughter in the air. The warmth of the sun on my face, wind on my cheek and my hand touching the dirt. Always reminding me of what you have given to me God. Thank You.
